AEM Short Ram air intakes are a great value and offer an easy-to-install, economical alternative to a full cold air intake. Moreover, for some applications, vehicles respond more favorably to the shorter systems than the cold air system.

aem vs. k&n - 06/12/2008
Review for: 4.0inch x 5inch DRYFLOW Synthetic Air Filter
Okay, so I had a k&n cold air intake for about 2 years on my 06 accord v6. It was great the first time I installed it, but you know like with all these tweaks, they kinda all fade away as the car gets older. I thought maybe I wasnt oiling it right , or too much, so it wasnt getting proper air flow. I bought a new filter. I also wasnt that gr8. Then the new aem v2 intake came out, so decided to try it. At first it felt less powerful than the k&n, but when driving I realized it really has better acceleration, cuz it gives more horses throughout the revs at any speed. So k&n filter might allow more air flow than aem, but the aem with the v2 system really produces more overall power, even though they advertise less horses than k&n for my car. I then tried a k&n filter appropriately sized for the aem v2, thinking the tubing of the v2 would be even better with more airflow from a k&n filter, but it wasnt as good. So bottom line k&n filter itself probably allows better flow, but the v2 system of aem, which works best with their filter, cranks out the best performance. By the way k&n is very good with satisfaction guarantee, they refunded me for a filter I didnt even buy from them. A Very Satisfied Customer. |

Review for: Brute Force Air Induction System
I bought the AEM Brute Force into for my 2001 Chevy S10 Crew Cab to gain a little power and fuel efficiency. This was the first install in a long list of power modifications to be made to my truck. The instructions were spot on, except it didnt tell me to remove one nut from the throttle cable bracket to get the mounting studs to uniform height. The other problem with the installation was that the screws on the rubber mount are cheap pot metal, not good quality steel like the rest of the components. I sheared the top screw off while trying to snug it a little. When I called AEM, they told me I would have to buy the part elsewhere; they did not even offer to sell me the part, much less replace it because I improperly installed the part in their opinion. I have been unable to find the right component online, but so far I do not have a rattle under the hood. Other than that, the intake works great. So far, I have noticed more low end torque, a slight acceleration increase, and better fuel mileage when I keep my foot off the skinny pedal. My first tank after the install saw an increase of two miles per gallon from 17 to 19 for combined city and highway driving. Normally I only get 19 MPG when I run straight highway miles (at about 75 MPH). I have not had a chance to do any hauling or towing to assess increases there. All in all, it does what it is advertised to do, and it looks great. Also, I will recommend Performance Center to anyone. It is a great site, and I plan to do a lot more shopping here. |

Good product, easy to install. Definitly can tell the power increase. Gas seems a little better too. I hear it roar a little when I get on it now. |

Let your engine BREATE !! - 06/04/2008
Review for: Brute Force Air Induction System
Replaced my OEM air intake system with the Brute Force -- 2003 Chev. 8.1 liter engine. Instructions were detailed and accurate -- 30 minute installation. This motor is now breathing freely for the first time! Noticeable difference in acceleration. No data yet on any mileage gain, but it is certain to be better. (Im a mechanical engineer by profession - specialized in I.C. engines, so I understand the workings of the engine and air/fuel system). I would recommend the AEM Brute to anyone (unless you dont like the added power and efficiency, or dont like the added throaty sound when you kick it in the butt. Takes me back to the days when I used to turn the lid upside down on the air cleaner!) |

Review for: Brute Force Air Induction System
I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi and this system instantly increased power like no tomorrow. My fuel milage increased by as much as 5 MPG in city. Installation was easy and I have very little mechanical knowledge. It also dresses up the engine compartment. A MUST HAVE!!!!! |

Good Product - 06/01/2008
Review for: Version 2 Air Induction System
Overall, this is a good buy for anybody who likes to add mods to their car. It gives pretty good power increases especially at higher speeds. It deepens the sound of my engine and gives it a pretty thick growl (during normal driving and normal acceleration, it remains unheard). However, installation was the thing that set me back. During installation, it requires you to get under the car. I find that impossible to do if you dont have a lift or a jack, and I think the instructions were somewhat unclear to me. |
