No matter what your application - the Auburn Gear Limited Slip Differential is engineered to provide smooth torque-sensing operation with bias ratios to meet your performance needs. This superior performance is achieved through an innovative cone clutch design which transfers more power to the high-traction wheel for quick acceleration and tight cornering. Available in three series: High Performance: Choose the high performance series as an excellent replacement for the standard original equipment differential for quality traction enhancement. The Auburn cone clutch design offers increased durability and performance in normal street use. Choose the Pro series to provide greater torque and preload, making it the ultimate limited slip differential for outstanding performance. No buttons to push, no levers to pull, it merely goes into action when required. It also handles superbly whether on or off the road. In the road race series Auburn Gear has developed a performance limited slip differential specifically for road racing - a differential case designed to allow the center pin to float along with the axle shafts. This design feature aids the driver when cornering, so that when the driver is turning, the outside wheel axle shaft will apply a force to the center pin hence, the pinion gears will firmly seat the inside cone/side gear assembly giving the racer an extremely tight rear axle. The greater the G-force the more bite you get. If you are an avid road racer you'll want this unit. It'll allow you to pass your competition.

Vehicle: 1999 CADILLAC Escalade
I had this differential put in my 2001 5.3 2WD Silverado. I got it for towing and light off roading. Coming out of the box, it looks very stout. It works great. Both wheels turn. Now I just need to get some tires that will dig in as hard as the diff will. Im having a great time doing donuts in a 4500 lb. truck.
It comes with a bottle of friction modifyer so you do not need to buy any. Make sure you put enough in (I didnt, long story) because the diff clutches hold so hard with the amount I had in there initially that the wheels bark making right turns.

I ordered the Auburn Gears High Performance limited-slip differential for my 2006 Ram 1500 4X4 with the 5.7 Hemi. I can feel the difference with the new gears. It is really noticable in wet and slick conditions. I normally would spin the one tire when startting. Now with the limited-slip the other wheel almost instantly engages and I can move away from the intersection or pull into a tight traffic spot. I really think this was a great investment for my Ram.

What great diff. Going from and open rear to this auburn limited slip made such a difference in my 1998 Dodge Dakota sport 4x4. I can feel the power going to both wheels when i need it and i can still turn a sharp corner if i have to. Im just so happy now that i can stand on the throttle now and actually get some traction because both wheels get power (in two wheel drive) instead of just one. Even better when im in 4wd. I would'nt know if it was real easy to install or not because i didn't have time to do it myself so i brought it to a differential and transmission shop that i know someone at and i got it back the next day. He told me it was a piece of cake. Overall GREAT product! Would recomend to anyone with a 4x4 or 2wheel drive truck.

I purchased the this auburn LSD when the rear "locker" in my '00 Tahoe Z71 decided it didn't want to engage the locker anymore. I must say this is the best rear diff I've ever driven with. It's perfect for mostly street use and even the occasional moderate "off-roading." I can now easily floor it around a turn (regardless of weather conditions) and not have to worry about crazy tire slipage or deal with the GM locker engaging and sending the rear-end sideways. While that may have been fun, I certainly prefer traction vs. sliding (especially in bad weather). I have also definately put the aurburn to the test in just about every common driving condition (at least in TX), from sleet, to gravel, or even newly paved roads. And in each case, the LSD perfectly does exactly what it's suppose to do every single time - and that is to give you the best traction possible. It truly does inspire confidence to just keep pushing the limits whenever you drive (if you wanted to of course...) :) Highly recommended - even if your GM "locker" is still working at the moment... because it probably won't be for long!

well i have been an automotive mechanic for 10 yrs professionally and got lucky enough that i had never rebuilt a rear differential before; now that i have i do not know what i was afraid of; it was easy but time consuming, with a little guidance from two coworkers that were mopar techs previously made me feel safe that i would not have to take it apart again. i replaced all the bearings,races and seals and put the auburn differential in but kept the original ring and pinion because they were still good total cost $508.01 not bad at all. now my 97 dodge ram 1500 is more quiet than its ever been and it has more of a crisp engagement and when im burnin rubber it feels like a tank {unbreakable} i like it alot.thanks guys good product

Vehicle: 2000 DODGE Ram 1500
One GREAT differential! I purchased this product as a replacement for the [junk] differential that was installed at the factory. Right out of the box, this thing looked 10x stronger than what came in the truck [2000 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4]. I had taken my truck to a repair shop after noticing a metallic look to the oil during maintenance [thrust washer / clutch pack failed] and was quoted around $1,200 for a replacement; I completed it for under $700 - including special tools. I have a fair amount of experience with engines [4 rebuilds] but had never tackled anything with gears. My dad and I completed the project in about 7 hours of [easy] work and I was back on the road. The following Friday [6 days later] I drove the truck to Nashville, TN and back [1,000 miles] without any problems. Needless to say, I'm very pleased with my purchase. Truck Performance came through again; I kept checking the order status and by the time they updated the item as shipped, it was literally sitting on my door step.
