 Every Cat-Back system is made from T-304 stainless steel (superior to 409 or aluminized steel) employing mandrel-bent tubing, all-welded construction, and is designed for accurate fit and easy installation. Nearly 30 years experience and special merge collector technology provide the ultimate in power and endurance. These gases condense and attack the system internally. Elements such as corrosive salts, moisture and mud contribute to exterior deterioration. These elements combined with equipment vibration, high temperatures, emission control requirements, uneven road surfaces, and varying traffic patterns make it easy to understand the need and demand for a long-lasting exhaust system. Borla systems are built to withstand these destructive conditions – Borla guarantees their exhaust systems for one million miles. All Borla exhausts are built from aircraft-quality T-304 stainless steel -- stainless inside and out, not mild steel, not aluminum, not coated aluminum, not just wrapped with stainless on the outside for show. Coating techniques, such as aluminizing, can somewhat prolong the life of mild steel, but coatings suffer at the weld points. And, comparing aluminized steel to T-304 stainless steel is like comparing gold-plated metal to solid gold! T-304 stainless steel has the highest chromium content, making it the most resistant to corrosion and therefore the most desirable material for a long-lasting exhaust system. Note: Only the flanges are not stainless. The 3/8-1/2 inch flanges are so thick they will never affect the performance or longevity of the system. Today, choosing performance exhaust can be confusing. A common misconception is that "bigger is better". Many enthusiasts, and manufacturers too, seem to feel that very large diameter pipes are the only way to go for muscle car performance, while at Borla they have found for street use, big pipes just take energy out of the exhaust, both by slowing down exhaust gas velocity and by cooling off the gases. While exhaust may leave the port at 1500 degrees or more, at the tailpipe it's down to 150 degrees -- a sign energy has been lost. Velocity and uninterrupted flow are the real performance-making factors. Furthermore, it is the low frequency range that has energy (the sound you can feel inside the car); big pipes increase the low frequencies, making an uncomfortable roaring or droning sound. A Borla exhaust system, on the other hand, is designed for less restriction, keeping the velocity and frequency high so the main sound is behind the tailpipe. Late model cars and trucks are computer controlled to such an extent that it may take a period of time (600-800 miles) before the computer reprograms to reflect the improved flow characteristics of your new Borla exhaust system. It is recommended that you have your Borla professionally installed; however, if you choose to do it yourself, anticipate approximately two hours for a system install and approximately six hours for header installation. Compare the shipment contents with the ship list before you begin, and make sure the tip(s) line up, working and tightening toward the front of the vehicle. The borla s for my jeep srt8 is nothing short of awesome! The sound is the first thing you hear upon start up, has that strong muscle car sound that stands the hair up on the back of your neck and only gets better as you push the gas. Some say you dont notice much more power from exhaust systems but i beg to differ i got my tires to spin for the first time ever after putting on this system and i wasnt really trying! If your not a fan of deep rumbling sound dont buy this, but if you need a little more power and a lot more sound dont hesitate buy now! |

I received my Borla exhaust last week and installed it on Saturday. It took 1.5 hours to install. A perfect fit. Not only does it look good on my truck its sounds even better. You can tell the difference in horse power. I had my truck on a dyno before the exhaust - STOCK - and I had 223 horse power at the rear wheels. I went back on the dyno with the Borla exhaust on and now I have 249 horse power at the rear wheels. 26 EXTRA HORSE POWER !! WOW. I would like to thank Performance Center for their great service and Borla for making such a great exhaust. |

Im having a little problem getting the right side of the tips to be same height as the left...but the product is great. The shipment was at my door as requested and it was an ease putting the exhaust on the car. My next project is to change my H pipes to X pipes. |

Nice price great system, not obnoxious sounding but definately powerful and horsepower gains with K&N cold air intake and Edge programmer, completes package. Nothing more needed for top performance. Only downside is the tip, it should have been welded on rather than clamped. |

2004 Grand Cherokee 4.7 Litre HO. Great quality pipes. As you might imagine, removing the old stock system was a pain...and I had a torch and a lift. Doing it in your driveway might be tough. Install is easy though, but have someone with you to hold the tailpipe in the right position as you tighten the clamps, I had to use muffler stands. The exhaust tone is very nice, and I have the K&N FIPK intake so the exhaust and intake complement each other for a mean sound. Could be just very slightly louder though, and the chrome tip is pretty big (wide), but its growing on me, I just put it on today. Also, the exhaust gas is EXREMELY hot out of the tailpipe, I cant keep my hand there, so I know that theres less energy transfer in the exhaust system, which means more efficiency. I would recommend this product, performancecenter.com is the cheapest I found, and it comes FedEx pretty quickly...enjoy |

No doubt that this is a very well made system. Costs just as much as a complete BMW system, so why not upgrade to something much better. Could be a little better tuned to a lower sound, but it does have a nice soft growl to it. Im happy with it though. Have only had it on for a day or so, so I cant speak to the more horsepower or gas mileage claim. |
