Review for: 15-inch Electric Puller Fan: 1950 CFM

Works well, easy install, takes time to fine tune the thermostat. Not much of a power gain, but a slight bit better MPG. A bit pricy for what you get. If you have the money, buy it. |

Review for: Black Magic Xtreme Electric Fan with Adjustable Thermostat and A/C relay
|

Good product, I suggest you take the time to plan out every thing from mounting to wiring makes things a lot smoother. On a 2003 Ford Ranger 4.0L SOHC it took me about 3 hrs to get every thing lookin good and ready for use. Also its a good idea to have a spare radiator for mock up. |

Good product, wiring needs help. - 02/26/2008
Review for: 15-inch Electric Puller Fan: 2800 CFM

I really like the fan, the adjustable thermostat is a really good feature. Overall quality is real good for an aftermarket product except for the do it your self wiring minus insulation and weather seal. The company could give connectors that have heat shrink tubing on them and a boot over the end of the reostat area (adjustment for thermostat) totally resolve this issue. I think that where salt is placed on the road as it is here in Utah that this could be a reliability issue down the road (pun intended). |

Review for: Black Magic Xtreme Electric Fan with Adjustable Thermostat and A/C relay

Great addition, felt HP gain right away, and I got heat. I have a 180 thermostat, with a reprogrammed ecu, and other engine mods. Installation is typical for a universal setup, custom everything but not impossible. |

Electric fan upgrade - 02/12/2008
Review for: Dual 15-inch Electric Puller Fan, 5500 CFM
|
|||
I recently installed the Flex-A-Lite electric fans on my 1998 K-1500 Chevy. Nice kit with clear instructions. I did run into a couple of small snags, I had to relocate one of the engine oil cooler lines and the lower radiator hose to clear the fan blades. The most difficult part of the installation was finding a switched electrical source; I had to remove the dashboard and hook into the 4-wheel drive circuitry. Oddly enough no drilling through the firewall is required; Chevy provided an insulated feed-through into the engine compartment – thanks General Motors! Too soon in the game to calculate fuel economy; however no fan roar during warm-up is nice and the truck is faster off the line. Overall I'm satisfied with the product; the only thing that concerns me is the electronic fan control, I'll carry the original fan with me during the summer months just as an insurance policy incase the “brain” dies. As some of the other reviewers stated I wish I had installed these years ago, still can't understand why General Motors insists on engine driven fans. |

Review for: Dual 15-inch Electric Puller Fan, 5500 CFM

Easy to install, looks and works great. AMP draw is pretty significant but truck has two batteries and a high amp alt. I can feel the extra power and see it in the gas guage. Excellent product should have installed it years ago. 1998 Chev K-1500 238,000 miles |

Deep Water Problems - 02/06/2008
Review for: 15-inch Electric Puller Fan: 2800 CFM
|
|||
I have had one on my truck for a couple of years and have always liked it. But if you intend to put your truck into deep water then you should order the switch so that you can manually turn it off in water crossings. Now I am buying a second fan because mine turned on in the water and the fan blades come off. Even though it did happen I still like the fans and say that you cant beat them. This time I am going to wire it so I can turn it off so it will not happen again. |
