Great performance

It was just a matter of taking one off and setting this one on. I had bought a previous type; when the K&N was intalled the difference was noticed instantly going up hill before it had to shift to 2nd gear now it just runs up hill on 3rd gear @78mph. I downloaded the intructions from the website before I received it so I had plenty of instructions for the installation.

This is a good product. The installation instructions are poor. You cant read them and the photo copy of them is too lite. The installation took me about 90 min. I dont like the flimsy bracket that holds the intake tube,it should be stronger. Also there should be a rubber seal between the heat shield and the filter. Overall it seems that performance has been improved.

The Aircharger Off-road Air Intake Kit took me from 12.8 to 15.8 mpg. What can I say...... Great along with the price! Jeff

This item should come stock on the F-150. It definetly improved the proforance of the vehicle and enabled the vehicle to get more air to the engine. The accleration is fantastic now. Why ford does not make this a stock item I never now, all it does is improve the engine instead of the heavy stock intake. If you are still running stock, do your self a favor get rid of if and get the K&N. Suggustion do not get the metal intake, it runs hot and you will not get the proformance as if you get the black plastic #63-2556

I ordered the K&N Off-road air intake for my 2006 F-150 and it was a good investment. It opened up that throaty sound I had been looking for my beast. Gas mileage has not really improved, but that extra power needed for passing on the highway is now there. Installation was pretty basic and the instructions were easy to follow.

Installation took about two hours, instructions were plenty detailed enough, they are some variation in vehicles so I had to fabricate my own support bracket. Otherwise excellent, instant performance and fuel economy gains. Also have a magnaflow cat back exhaust. Great combo, excellent performance gains with out sacrificing reliability.
