Nice shorter throws... Alows you to use cup holder in front of shifter without hitting the cup
The B&M shifter is a tremendous value when you compare to other shifters. You know that with B&M you are getting a top quality piece. This is probably the best price that you can find anywhere.
The reduced throw is awesome and once you get used to it, you could never be without it. Retaining ring pliers are a must! Otherwise, this is a very simple installation and bending the heat shield is no problem at all. While you are down there, I would recomend getting some higher quality shifter bushings.
I love my B&M short shifter. It takes about a week to break in and work smoothly, but the reduced throw allows for faster shifts and stops the shifter from getting in the way of the radio and cupholders! The only hard part of the install is removing and replacing the C-clip that holds the shifter in place. This requires snap ring pliers, a small flat head screw driver, and lots of patience. You'll also have to bend the heatshield down a little bit underneath the car so as not to rub the shift linkage. It's not a bad idea to use a drop of lock-tite on the shift linkage bolt too.
I've heard of the bolt coming loose and people having to drive to get it fixed in 2nd gear!
