The intake tube and heat shield did not fit together. On our '97 Jeep GC, the heat shield intake tube hole had to be opened up (lowered). The intake tube would not seal and sit flat on the throttle body when run thru the supplied heat shield.
KNN cold air intake for a 1995 Jeep 5.2L V-8
Over all this is a good product that produced more power than I thought (24.77 HP gain at 4300 RPM.) This product took twice as long to install as described, and this was my third KNN I have installed. The kit required some tweeking/shifting to get everything to fit. I thought the parts made of could have been made from better materials. The plastic tipped locking nuts got to go. How durable? time will tell
K&N Intake kit on 5.9 Grand Cherokee
Installation was very simple, with no surprises. Better performance with more authoritive sound when opened up, but not Earth shattering. Worth the money as part of many other upgrades planned, such as headers and exhaust system. When done, the package should exceed my expectations.
Sounds and performs great
I own a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee with this cold air intake and a Flowmaster exhaust and both work and sound great. They both have been great products for me. The K&N has been an amazing find. It was that something that I was missing in my intake flow system. Allowing my engine to breath was the single most effective thing I have done to my Jeep. Worth every penny I spent for it and it's weight in gold.
