K&N Cold air Intake
Easy to install, great directions, seems to be a quailty product.
Installed on a 2002 Jeep Wrangler with 4.0L Auto. I have noticed a increase in power - specially when passing at highway speed. I have not noticed a increase in MPH yet but that is probably my fault - still enjoying more power... The biggest difference is the sound, specially at cold start up and FULL throttle (See no increase in MPH above).
I bought this intake hoping to get a little more pep out of my rubicon after putting the 35s on it and the intake exceeded my expectations with flying colors. Im not achieving about 14%hp gain and about 2-4 miles more to the gallon. I was hittin 60MPH in third gear at about 3K RMP.I highly recomend this intake it was by far the best investment i made in my jeep. Plus it made it sound better too!
Installed easily on 04 V6 Wrangler. Sounds great when accelerating. I was getting 10 mpg before install now getting only 8 mpg after two fill-ups. I would have been better off spending the $220 on the next three tanks of gas(at nearly $4 a galllon) had I known that it would actually decrease mpg. More people need to be honest about the claims of getting better fuel mileage like 2-3 mpg increases. I almost believe that since they got taken they wanted everyone else to share their misfortune by promoting the GEN II instead of exposing it.
Happy returns if you buy to help stay away from the pump longer.
I am the biggest skeptic with bolt on performance parts. Install was a breeze and did not have any problems with any part of install. I noticed a definite increase in power and about 8 more miles to the tank load ( mostly highway commute). My wife took the vehicle to work and called me within five minutes of leaving and asked what I did to the jeep because it has more power. I have reccommended this product to other cooworkers only to find they already own it. Same positive feedback from them.
I have been very pleased with my kit. It has increased HP, get about 4 mpg more and love the get up and go I have now. Installation was very easy and I am very pleased with the product.
I did feel a difference! install was a breeze, very good product running 60+ @ 1900 rpm
about 2 mpg better than without! you wont be disappointed.
I installed the cold air intake in less than an hour. The hardest part was putting the padding around the heat sheild. The performance boost was great. Did not imporve gas mileage as I had hoped, but the performance boost was worth it.
I am driving a 1997 Wrangler Sport 4.0L (6 cylinder), and installed this K&N air intake system on it recently. I was hoping to recover some of the horsepower lost from going to larger tires (31s). This component exceeded my expectations. While it did not bring the car back to its original state, I definitely feel a dramatic increase in power. There is a noticeable kick when you press down the pedal, in almost any gear. Highway driving is much less of a chore in fighting headwinds as well. I cannot speak of gas mileage yet, but it does not seem to have any negative effect on it. Bottom line: increase in power all along the power band (most dramatic above 2,000 rpms).
The K & N airflow kit has made a world og difference in the performance of my 2002 Jeep. climbs hills better, accelarates faster while using less gas to get there. it was very easy to install, I have this product on my 2002 GMC also same great results.
If you are looking for a little bit of help during these high gas prices this will help, gained 85 miles out of a tank, you use less gas because of the unrestricked airflow don't have to push the pedal as hard or far to get up to speed.
My 97 Jeep Wrangler TJ 4.0l is getting a slight improvement to the horsepower and gas mileage. Can barely feel the improvement on seat of pants and then, only feel it at high rpms. The sound is also close to what it was before so no big change there either.
The install went smooth except fitting the silicon gasket to the intake tube was difficult. Overall, not that great of an improvement over stock air intake. Don't know that I'd spend the money if I had to do it over again but I am happy with it for now.
