K&N 57-1529 FIPK Cold Air Intake Fuel Injection Perfomance Kit

Installation on my 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4.6 was simple and the instructions were spot on. Done about 1,000 miles with it so far. While straight intakes like this do considerably increase the sound level at 3/4 to full throttle, it is not an issue during normal driving. Performance wise, the Ram certainly breathes better and it has a noticable gain at 1/2 throttle and up. It has also flattened out the torque curve (in a positive way) so general acceleration is smoother. Im not sure it has changed average gas mileage, but I truck around 3 MX motorcycles and on highway drives I see more even engine speeds and maybe 1-2 mpg better. Worth it for the money.

I installed the FIPK in under two hours; the job was fairly easy. I havent had it long enough to tell if the performance has increased or not. The test will be when I tow our travel trailer next spring.

I put this on and right away you could feel the difference in performance.After a couple thousand miles I can notice the better gas mileage.

So i love the new intake however my one complaint is that the installation instructions were vague and the pictures on the instructions were hard to make out. other than that i really have only good things to say. the real boost came when i put flowmasters on a week later so that it could breathebetter all the way through.

Replaced my stock airbox on my Dodge Ram 1500 with this kit. I also changed my stock exhaust with a flowmaster cat-back 40 series system. With both changes I see about a 2-3 mile per hour increase in gas mileage. Dont know who to attribute it to but the savings will pay for both additions over time.

WOW... Sounds great and you can actually feel an increase in performance. To really free up the air flow, Ive also installed a Borla exhaust. More air in, more air out. Truck is fun to drive now. Better gas mileage? Yes, if you can resist the urge to hear the K+N sucking in a bunch of air when you put youre foot into it.

I just bought this intake a few weeks ago and put it in and wow my truck sounds much better... when i get on it you can really hear the motor working... the intake makes it sound like it has power... my mileage went up also... but the first week it went down due to my heavy right foot... but hey you should really invest in an intake right after exhaust...

K&N is the best. I owned a Volant and I didnt see any difference. I race a friend who I would always beat and thought I would beat him more with the Volant and no, turns out I am the one to get beat for 2 months. I owned it so I bought the K&N and man did I see a big difference. I race my friend and sure enough I beat him worse than ever before so now I put QuikSilver in the back of my truck. The K&N also saves gas big time. If you're like me and add a borla exhaust to your dodge your truck will peel them tires out. When I put those two together I can take off now and I have 20's. So I put on some street rated tires to have a better launch. So thanks K&N.
