Camry rear Shocks: KYB GR2 - 07/01/2008
Review for: Rear Left GR-2 Twin-Tube Gas Strut
|
|||
I am well satisfied with my KYB GR2 shocks for my 99 Toyata Camry. As a result of instalation the over all car/body height at the rear was raised over an inch restoring my Camry to the original spec height.
The ride is very good just slightly stiffer than I remember the OEM ride when the car was new. After installing these two new rear shock / struts I bounced the rear of the car up and down. It was hard to get the rear of the car to bounce at all but I was able to press the rear end down somewhat. It recovered really well i.e when I bounced the rear end down then let go the rear end simply returned to normal height and did not bounce up at all.
On the road the car rides nicely now with no bouncig at the rear even with three adults seated in the back seat. Very smooth and quiet ride now.
One suggestion: I bought new KYB mounts with the KYB shocks. It would be helpful if the instructions that come with the mounts clearly show which way the angled mount is supposed to be installed on the car as well as on the shock. Current KYB instructions are not clear on this point.
Right now I am well satisfied with these shocks. I will have to wait and see if they last as long as the OEM rear shocks (125,000mi). |

KYB Rear GR-2 Twin Tube Gas Sturt- 1995-1999 Dodge Neon - 06/30/2008
Review for: Rear GR-2 Twin-Tube Gas Strut
|
|||
The Twin tube struts have a slightly more agressive feel to them when cornering, and provide a nicer more comfortable ride compaired to stock struts, and they are very affordable, the only down side to these is that the housing for the spring is slightly different, but i guess that would allow for different spring types, overall I rate these struts a four out of five. |

I am very happy with this product. It took awhile to leave the factory for shipping, but other than that no complaints. I didnt install them myself, either so cant really say much about the difficulty but this is a great product. |

KYB-MonoMax Shocks - 06/16/2008
Review for: GM

If you have weak springs, these shocks may actually add some life to your suspension. They have very strong damping and the high gas pressure actually lifted my suspension somewhat. They look cool too! |

Review for: Front AGX Adjustable Gas Shock

These shocks are an unbeleavible upgrade from stock. With my new Eibach 1 inch drop springs it gave me a whole new car. Handles like it is on rails and out of 8 settings I have them on 4. I am saving the highest setting for autocross. |

Good price / performance. - 06/08/2008
Review for: Rear GR-2 Twin-Tube Specialty Shock
|
|||
The price is good and the performance is better than stock.
I have owned Bilstein, Koni and various offroad hi-performance shocks and would rate these as a significant improvement over the OEM junk with much better rebound and a more controlled compression stroke. In terms of stiffness compared to stock, I would say there is some appreciable increase, but the control is much better.
I would put these under the Bilstein re: control and stiffness, fit & finish are almost as good.
Good OEM replacement that no one should find too stiff.
It would have been nice if KYB had used some more care in shipping. Not PFs fault as it was sent from the factory, but still pretty annoyingly sloppily packed. Lucky to have gotten them at all it was so bad. |
