I used these lockouts to replace the Automatic locking hubs that came with my 1986 Toyota 4Runner SR5. The hubs themselves look great and installation was fairly straight forward. I havent used the 4WD since I installed them other than to road test it. As I said the hubs look great and they function very easily at least in 50 degree weather. The only grip I have is the hardware. They obviously put time and care into manufacturing the hubs, but the included washers are supposed to be some sort of locking tab thing, but they are cheap aluminum and look terrible. Also the bolts included with the spindle kit were not long enough for proper fitment. So I used some spare bolts and washers that I happen to have. I recommend the hubs(like I said I havent really used them yet), but I would say skip the spindle conversion kit and get the parts from Toyota. Also the instructions could have been better. |

One tough mount
Review for: Extreme Winch Mount

Have used the Mile Marker 9,000 pound electric winch to pull everything from my 8,000 pound Dodge 4X4 pickup with a 14 foot enclosed equipment trailer out of the mud to attempting a partially load cement truck. The mount was easy to mount and has not moved or bent. The finish is very durable. Having owned several 4X4's over the years with winch mounts this is by far the most well constructed one I have owned. |

the best winch

I've had two previous electric winches that have both burned up. The mile marker 10,500lb winch I have now can be run continuously all day long. I've used it 3 days in a row pulling big pine trees over at a piece of land I own. Never had a problem with it, and it's 2 speeds make winding up the rope much faster. The only downfall to the hydraulic winch is that the vehicle must be running so the power steering pump can power the winch. If you were to kill the motor in a deep water hole, only the electric winch would work (till the battery dies). The hydraulic winch is silent in operation, does'nt over heat or get too hot, and it doesn't drain the battery. ONE OTHER THING I WILL STRONGLY RECOMMEND FOR ANY WINCH IS TO REPLACE THE STEEL CABLE WITH WINCH ROPE. CABLE IS STIFF, WANTS TO STAY CURLD UP, FRAYS, IS HEAVY, AND ONLY HAS HALF THE STRENGHT OF WINCH ROPE. WINCH ROPE IS SPECIALY MADE FOR WINCHES AND IS LIKE WORKING WITH A 1/2" CLOTHES LINE, IT'S EXPENSIVE, AROUND, $200.00 FOR A 100' PIECE, BUT ONCE YOU USE IT YOU WILL NEVER AGAIN USE A STEEL CABLE. |
