I own this winch and it does pull a little bit slower than the warn m seres winches which i have owned as well in the past. this winch works fully under water and doesnt overheat at all it is unstopable.

I've had two previous electric winches that have both burned up. The mile marker 10,500lb winch I have now can be run continuously all day long. I've used it 3 days in a row pulling big pine trees over at a piece of land I own. Never had a problem with it, and it's 2 speeds make winding up the rope much faster. The only downfall to the hydraulic winch is that the vehicle must be running so the power steering pump can power the winch. If you were to kill the motor in a deep water hole, only the electric winch would work (till the battery dies). The hydraulic winch is silent in operation, does'nt over heat or get too hot, and it doesn't drain the battery. ONE OTHER THING I WILL STRONGLY RECOMMEND FOR ANY WINCH IS TO REPLACE THE STEEL CABLE WITH WINCH ROPE. CABLE IS STIFF, WANTS TO STAY CURLD UP, FRAYS, IS HEAVY, AND ONLY HAS HALF THE STRENGHT OF WINCH ROPE. WINCH ROPE IS SPECIALY MADE FOR WINCHES AND IS LIKE WORKING WITH A 1/2" CLOTHES LINE, IT'S EXPENSIVE, AROUND, $200.00 FOR A 100' PIECE, BUT ONCE YOU USE IT YOU WILL NEVER AGAIN USE A STEEL CABLE.

this is the best winch I have ever used. It never overheats and it has never let me down.
