 Here's how the Powermaster Welder works: the 24oz, solid-state controller gets installed on your off-road rig or truck. During normal driving, the alternator's output is adjusted 100,000/second to create optimum voltage and amperage. Power flows from the alternator, through the control unit to the vehicle's batter (or batteries). To weld, simply plug welding cables into the receptacles, increase the engine rpm to create more amperage from the alternator, strike an arc and weld. The high-frequency direct current is smooth and easy to use. No need to push buttons or throw switches; the Powermaster Welder is completely automatic. When welding, the vehicle's battery and electrical system are isolated from the high-voltage and amperage created by the alternator. Cease welding and after a ten-second delay, the unit automatically restores normal charging. Powermaster recommends a minimum of a 140 amp alternator for welding. If your stock alternator is less than 140 amps, Powermaster recommends upgrading to a new Powermaster Alternator. Included with the welder will be a certificate that entitles you to send your alternator (whether it is a stock unit or a new Powermaster unit) to power master for converting, at no cost to you. |

I am a truck driver and it is just what I need! I can not tell you how maney times I have gone to get a load in the woods (I haul pulp wood, they make paper with it) and something needed welding and did NOT have a welder. Simpley no place to put it on the truck, TILL NOW! the only question I have is what is the biggest rod will it take 3/32-1/8-5/8 I am a welder by trade and i know this is going to save me lots of time, and in trucking time is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ AWESOME |
