Product List Loading:  wait
Hellwig Anti-Sway Bars are an easy, affordable way to upgrade your Truck, RV, SUV, or Musclecar's handling performance. Anti-Sway bars reduce body-roll with their torsional design. They transfer the pressure on the outboard wheels and apply opposite pressure on the inboard wheels. As a result, weight is more evenly distributed to all four wheels, thereby helping your vehicle stay more level with the road and giving you better overall control. Each Hellwig Anti-Sway bar is manufactured from High-Quality Hot Formed & Heat Treated 4140 Chrome Moly Spring Steel and is covered by a Lifetime Warranty.

4 out of 5 stars Hellwig rear anti-sway
Review for: Rear 7/8 inch 4140 Chrome Moly Steel Anti-Sway Bar
From MA Reviewer: From A Customer   Own this product - Yes
Good product but Hellwig did not include any kind of lubricant for the polyurethane bushing, such as white lithium, so they squeak a lot. This is especially true in cold weather. If you are purchasing these products, make sure you get some kind of long lasting grease such as lithium or whatever.

NOTE: this goes for front swaybars such as addco...both companies do not include such grease. Make sure you purchase grease as such before installation so you do not have to pay more for your car to be lifted again (unless you have a lift you lucky sonuvagun)
4 out of 5 stars Very good product if you can get the right parts

Vehicle: 2000 TOYOTA Tundra
I purchased this anti-sway bar for a Toyota Tundra DC to help with body roll. This made the ride completely different. The truck stays much flatter in turns now and Im completely satisfied with the handling. Performance center was good in helping me deal with the manufacturer. The product comes with two sheets of paper with very unclear instructions and no parts list. I know my way around in the garage, but I was disheartened when I had the whole install almost completed only to discover I was missing two brackets for the endlinks. This is a huge problem for Hellwig. Ive seen this happen to other buyers at least ten times. I would not expect to get all the parts on the first order unless you do it by phone and have someone go over the list with you. They will get them out 2nd day air when they do fail to include all parts. In summary, product is excellent, service from the manufacturer not too great.

Review for: Rear 1-1/2 inch 4140 Chrome Moly Steel Anti-Sway Bar
From florida Reviewer: From A Customer   Own this product - Yes
Wow what a difference! Went from almost out of control to bring it on big trucks and windy days. Just wished I gotten the sway bar sooner. Easy to put on by myself with a few hand tools and a couple of hours wasnt bad at all. Recommend it to all motor home owners with a problem of having to slow down because of rocking back and forth when a big rig passes or those gusts of wind, almost eliminated body roll going around corners. Great product, thanks Mike

This review is for a kit I installed on my 98 GMC Sierra 2WD short bed P/U. This is a high quality kit marred by the exclusion of grade eight hardware (nuts, bolts washers). Considering the price and quality of the other parts, including heavy duty hardware would be appropriate for this kit.

Assembly is pretty straight forward; you will need 7/8 and 11/16 wrenches. Before you start wrenching do yourself a favor: first, remove the spare tire; second, make sure the truck is raised high enough to allow you to sit cross legged underneath the back end (if youre average height this shouldnt be a problem) and third, lay out and match-up all the nuts, washers and bolts to their respective assemblies. It is a royal booger to tighten the frame clamps in this kit and being able to sit under the truck where the spare is stored will allow you access and be able to swing the wrenches; working from below lying on a creeper means youre working against gravity. It would be much better if the tightening torques were listed specifically for each assembly step instead of the seperate table listing the bolt/nut size and its appropriate torque; its dumb. But dont worry cause youll never get the 75 Ft-Lbs required to tighten the axle u-bolts and saddles....the saddles will spread and bend and the bolts will chew through the cheapo mild steel washers...not too impressive for the major connection of the bar to the axle. And dont worry about even getting a torque wrench on the frame clamps.

The results are very nice; body roll is greatly reduced and the bar seems to have minimal impact on the ride (it does ride a shade stiffer). Overall a nice addition to your ride...I just wish the instructions were a little better and the hardware was up to par with the rest of the parts.
4 out of 5 stars TACOMA REAR SWAY BAR

Vehicle: 1995 TOYOTA Tacoma
This sway bar was fairly easy to install. Simple instructions. Very good quality manufacturing, other than the locking nuts that wouldnt thread on! Had to buy more at Home Depot.Remember to buy lock washers. Still havent received ordered front sway bar, so wont know how significant the improvement in handling will be but I know it will be good. Installed on 2000 Tacoma Extra Cab V6 5-speed, lowered 3in.,front; 4in.,rear. Definitely would recommend.

Product was theoretically a vanilla install. Unfortunately not so. Directions did not specify where supplied washers would go - in fact specified the wrong side of the bolt in some locations i.e. the rubber grommet in some instances needed a washer where the directions indicated the other side. I made an on the job executive decision and added washers of my own. Once that was done - product did make a dramatic improvement in handling right from 10 miles an hour to highway driving. Vehicle is more stable on curves.
4 out of 5 stars Rear Sway Bar / Full Size 2005 Chevy Silverado (4D) Crew Cab
Review for: Rear 1-1/8 inch 4140 Chrome Moly Steel Anti-Sway Bar
From Houston, Texas Reviewer: From A Customer   Own this product - Yes
The Rear Sway Bar does work well and the overall handling did improve. Installation was difficult only because of the bad instructions and nightmare compressed locking nuts provided. I did a self install. Instructions in the package are HORRIBLE. It contains some visual bad dark pictures and diagrams - my problem was that they show the support brackets and hardware in different positions throughout the pictures and diagrams. The compressed locking nuts are very very difficult to put on, and thats because I used a pneumatic impact gun. They were so hard to put on - it felt like they were cross threading, and to make matters worse - the instructions state to double stack the locking nuts. I ended up breaking my impact gun. If the instructions were right and the hardware was a little easier, the sway bar should install - by yourself in maybe 1 1/2 - 2 hours. But because they are bad and you need to improvise, expect take 5 - 6 hours. A second compent helper will shorten this install time. Fit is tight and it does work. You could have it professionally installed, I would only hope that they do put it on properly. I drove it with the Hellwig Rear Sway Bar and the factory sway for about a month. The handling did improve. I now have the Hellwig front sway. A lot easier to install, and handling improved. I Highly recommend having someone mechanically compent to help out with the front sway also.

Comment from Hellwig - Hellwig always has the goal of being the best in load and sway control. This means paying attention to every detail of our kit, down to the instruction sheets. We have recently revamped our instruction sheets with clearer pictures and transferred them to PDF. If you are experiencing any difficulty during installation we have a full time Tech line (800) 367-5480 that can assist you in the process. And please contact us if you need anything else. Thank you for using Hellwig!

I have 1998 K1500 Z71 and comes with a anti-sway bar in the front but not in the back. Added the rear anti-sway bar and makes a world of difference. I definitely recommend this product. As for installation: Bolt up to the frame is not real easy but doable - Wheels need to come off and having various extentions to tighten the nuts will help.

My old sway bar actually broke (if you can believe it). I decided to go with an after market. After MUCH research the Hellwig from Performance Center seemed to have the best price / bang for the buck.. I got the bar in about 10 days (shipped from Mfg), nice package. The complete install took about 2 Hrs with the removal of the old broken bar and linkage. Everything went on pretty well. You WILL have some work with the Linkage Bolt Head and Link Nut (the bolt is inside the Lower Control Arm). I would jack up the Lower Control Arm to compress the linkage. I did the complete job by myself (really no help needed). Nice bar, link bolts are better then factory. Sway bar is powdercoated. Much better ride for my 8 year old suspension (I also added Bilstein Shocks, that HAD to help) !! NOTE: KEEP THE FACTORY BOLTS FOR THE U BRACKETS, YOU WILL REUSE THEM !

That is about it.. Thanks !!
