It used to be that choosing and installing an onboard air compressor system was a daunting task, what with having to sort through lists and lists of parts and trying to figure out what exactly you needed. Well, VIAIR has changed all that with their Onboard Air Systems! In this kit, you will have everything you need to correctly and safely install an air compressor and tank. You'll be able to inflate and deflate your tires on the trail with ease, also inflate toys, rafts, and anything else! Moreover you can even run small power tools and even run air horns or air lockers. The constant duty onboard air system can inflate a 35x12.5in tire from 0 to 30 PSI in under 7 minutes and fill a 2.5 gallon tank from 0 to 105 PSI in 1 minute, 55 seconds!

1/4in NPT female quick connect coupler

Im very technical, yet between the planing and execution I spent two and a half days till all was installed and working.
I love it! it is great to have on board air presure.
Overall its a good deal, but...
1. Air tank - installation must be in the upright position or inverted due to lake of drain port in a 90 degrees to the base. very restricting.
2. Relay - its huge! if instaled by the kit, it will screw directly to the air tank, making it the whole package over sized and volnrable for brakege.
3. I found that the kit was missing few more nik naks that was resolved after few trips to Pep Boys and Autozone.

If you enjoy working on your ride, go for it. it will not be so easy to install it under the vehicle. If all you need is to inflate tires, get a good stronge portable unit and save yourself the headche. If you are planing to do heavy duty work- use air tools extansivly, look someware els.
