From VT - Vehicle: 1999 FORD Contour

After reading rave reviews from other Contour owners, I decided to purchase the B&M shifter for my 1999 Contour SVT. The install was straight forward, with the exception of the centering spring. The throws seem very short and solid. The only 2 gripes I have are: 1). The shifter seems to hit a hard stop in 2nd and 4th gear, but not in 1,3,5. Seems like a little better desing could have been employed to avoid this issue. 2). For the particular application of the Contour, the short shifter really increases how far I need to reach to shift now. This is more of the design of the OEM shifter/arm rest, just an observation. Overall, I'm very pleased w/ the shifter and the service from PerformanceCenter.com.
