Tech Notes
There are three types of shifter actions or internal mechanism designs. The Ratchet and Gate designs are found in the B&M top of the line shifters. The Detent design is a less expensive mechanism designed for racing and street/strip applications.

Ratchet:Moving the stick ratchets it to the next gear only, eliminating overshifting. The stick returns to the original upright position readying it for your next shift.
Gate:The mechanism in a gate shifter utilizes a plate with stepped notches that act as stops from gear to gear. Gates may be horizontal or vertical.
Detent:A Detent mechanism has a spring loaded tab for each gear. This low cost mechanism is designed for positive shifts, but not for racing.

This is one of the most awesome looking race shifters you'll ever find! The sleek lines of the Pro Bandit and the aggressive rake of the Magnum Grip, all in carbon fiber! Complete kit includes: 8inch super duty race cable, B&M Powerglide pro lever, Quick Disconnect and cable extension (CO2 or electric solenoid may be used on this shifter for a Powerglide transmission). All Bandit shifters use the same gate plates as found in our Pro Stick shifters.
