Catalytic-Converter-Equipped Vehicles: In 1993 Ford changed the exhaust system to no longer include a catalytic converter in the system. If you are unsure which system your vehicle is equipped with, look underneath the passenger side of the coach. A catalytic converter will have a 4-bolt flange on its inlet connection to the Y-Pipe.

Chassis Type: If your vehicle was manufactured by John Deere or Oshkosh, the lug nuts for the front wheels will be 1.5-inch hex. If the vehicle was manufactured by Ford, the lug nuts will be 0.875-inch hex. If the engine is carbureted, then the chassis was NOT manufactured by Ford.

Banks TorqueTube is a streamlined exhaust manifold designed to optimize exhaust flow and engine efficiency. Because the stock manifold's flange does not align squarely with the ports, flow is restricted. TorqueTube corrects the problem with a 5/8-inch flange that is machined to precisely fit the port pattern. You can hear the difference in the plusher, healthier exhaust note.

Unlike the stock, failure-prone intake manifold, Banks TorqueTube is built of heavy, 409 stainless steel to weather a lifetime of heat, stress and abuse. The flange, fully welded to the tube assembly on both sides, will never crack or separate. A gasket is only required on aluminum-head applications. These applications include a gasket that is made of SMI 900, a material that stands up to super-hot temperatures. Bolts right on.
