Tech Notes
To clean the filter, first brush off any large embedded dirt. Then spray on the K&N cleaner and let it soak for 10 minutes. Next, Rinse off the element with LOW pressure water. (Always flush from the clean side to the dirty side.) Then allow filter to dry NATURALLY. After filter has dried re-oil with K&N air filter oil only. Apply evenly to entire filter making sure to oil down into each pleat. Then re-install making sure the element seats properly in the filter case.
Description
K&N developed and manufactures a high-flow, washable filter that has been proven, again and again, to increase an engines performance. Oiled premium cotton gauze keeps dirt and debris on the outside of the filter to improve filtering efficiency. Hence, dust and dirt will not clog the filter element as quickly as it will paper and foam. The accordion fold design provides up to five times the filtering surface of non-pleated filters. You won't have to worry about moisture either, since it will not clog the oil-saturated element. Even after being completely wet, the filter won't need to be replaced. The cotton filter media is protected by an epoxy coated aluminum screen mesh that also straightens the air flow for increased air flow. K&N filters are easily cleaned and are backed by a Million Mile Limited Warranty.

The first thing I did when my wife purshased her 2005 exploter 4.0 , was to look for an K&N Cold air kit, but they dont make it. But thanks God they make the direct replacement version and it is great, we have the vehicle for two years now and it was the best improvement I did for the price. I have a 2003 f-150 and I wa furtune that they make the complete kit which its also a great performance. Thanks K&N for making this product.

Really happy with my new K&N filter. My Explorer 4.0 V6 definately has more pickup with the new filter. I just towed my camper 2800 mile and the truck ran great.

I would recommend this upgrade to anyone.

I had one in a car a few years ago. I forgot what a great addition to the performance they can be. Along with a tune up I have improved my gas mileage by 3.5mpg. TruckPerformance.com had the best price anywhere even with shipping.
